Doctor Doom - Designer Toy
Design Manager
This comic-inspired Doctor Doom by artist Tracy Tubera channels the character's iron-fisted authority through a commanding, larger-than-life stance - rooted equally in comic book dictatorship and hip hop royalty. Translating that weight and dominance into 3D — while honoring Tracy's signature graphic style — required close collaboration with the artist, development manager and sculptor to ensure the pose read with the gravitas Doom demands (and could actually be produced).
From the devilish silhouette and sheen of the armor to the subtle nods to sneaker culture woven throughout the aesthetic we wanted to reinforce Doom as the kind of figure who doesn't wear the culture - he rules it.
The photography direction leans into a dramatic visual language - gritty enough to feel pulled from the pages of a comic, bold enough to sit on a shelf next to your vinyl records.
