Día de los Muertos and DC Comics aren't an obvious pairing, but that's exactly what made the Batman, Joker, and Harley Quinn Calavera Designer Toys worth getting right. The line, created with artist Jose Pulido for Unruly Industries, reimagines all three characters through traditional sugar skull artistry inspired by Jose Guadalupe Posada, fusing Mexican folk art with American pop culture in a way that still feels true to each character.

As Art Director and Project Manager, I partnered with Jose to translate his designs into production while keeping his artistic intent intact across three distinct sculpts, paint applications, and color palettes. That meant securing DC's approval at every stage and coordinating sculpt, paint, and manufacturing timelines with our manufacturing PM so all three figures could launch together as a complete set, marking the debut of Unruly Industries' DC Comics collection. The result is a line that honors Jose's heritage and artistic voice while giving collectors something genuinely different from anything else on their shelves.
